3/21/2023 0 Comments Ebay watcher buy it nowSo I called Fed Ex, and was told that they could not request afternoon delivery (I was lied to). I got a delay message about an hour later on my phone. The delivery guy showed up at my door while I was at work. When I called Fed Ex to explain to them that I work for a living, that I would not be home until after 5:00 PM ANY weekday, and to see if I could simply get the delivery moved to the late afternoon when I WOULD be home, the representative told me he'd handle it. When I unknowingly tried to have the package left at a nearby Fed Ex location, I was met with a message telling me the authentication system didn't allow that, nor do they allow Fed Ex to deliver the watch on weekends. There is no mention of this anywhere on eBay's pages. It must be delivered to the address by them. I was unaware that the eBay system does not allow the buyer to sign for the package with an official ID (like a driver's license) at a Fed Ex location. I received the Fed Ex tracking number on the eBay page and waited for the watch to arrive. It arrived in Dayton early on November 2, was quickly authenticated (the watch has an exhibition caseback, so I'm sure it was probably very easy for them to verify authenticity) and sent out that evening via Fed Ex. The seller shipped the watch to the authenticators Stoll & Co. I paid for the watch on October 30, no problems there. I recently purchased a watch from eBay (I've done that more than a dozen times in the past), but this time, I had to use their Authentication system.
